Origin Curved Combo Length Irons

They feel great!

The curved face irons in combo are the best way to play. They will last until they sponsor me and I ask for new ones. They feel better than the previous irons I had, 3-PW in the P7TW irons

Same for the wedges, I love them…

These are by far the best irons I have used. I have recommended Avoda to everyone I know. The same length shafts make it so much easier to be consistent.

Went thru the online fitting process while knowing my normal build specs. Took a leap on the recommended graphite shafts and grip size; glad I did. While it is simulator season presently, very impressed with the feel and build quality. The Origins forging is top notch. Would highly recommend to anyone on the fence.

I am hitting the 9 iron at around 100 club speed and 130 Ball speed. I have started to dial in L wedge as well. With it being longer than normal I am getting a wider range of yardages, which is a blessing. Anyway love them.

Have had my combo length irons and wedges for about a month now!! They really do give the confidence you need to keep same ball position and it gives you consistent contact!! I will be playing Avoda for the near future!!

Fan-freaking-tastic!!! I’ve been playing them for several months now, and they’re the best iron I’ve ever played. (And I’ve had some good ones).

I amaze myself and those I play with with these sticks. The weight and build quality are exceptional. I can control my Avoda Combo Irons with ease. I am very happy with my purchase and Avoda Golf's support. I would do it again and twice on Sunday.

About 2 weeks ago I received an email to review the Origin Combo Length Irons I had received on 12/17/24. I had been waiting to write that review, until I had been able to really test them. I live in Pennsylvania (unfortunately on the other side of the state from the Sewickley Location for Avoda Golf) and the winter weather just hasn’t allowed for proper testing, but I have been able to get out and hit them on the range and on-course. They performed extremely well in that limited testing.

I had ordered the KBS $-Taper Shaft in Stiff+, because I normally play True Temper Project X Steel 6. 5. My thought was in a switch to Avoda Combo length irons with their shorter length, lower loft and spin window in the longer irons, having a shaft that would marginally increase the launch window and spin rate would be beneficial. I was hoping the mid-launch and mid-spin profile would give me an opportunity to swing at a comfortable tempo and produce similar flight, spin window, and “feel” to what I would expect based on the lofts and weight of the clubs (not just the number stamped on the bottom of the club).

So far, that is what I experienced. The clubs are excellent. They feel powerful, and the shafts seem to be a good match for the weight and loft of the 4 and 5 iron.

I have played Project X/Rifle shafts, since Kim Braly and his Father were making them at Precision Golf Company in the late 1980s (I’m 55 years old), so a move to Kim Braly’s KBS $-Taper feels like going home.

The $-Taper is smooth feeling, but at the same time can take the load of a fast swing and still return the club face accurately to the ball. It’s a great balance for a high speed player who still understands that tempo and timing are the key to control. The best way to describe the feeling of this shaft is “the club face is where you think it is at all points during the swing… and more importantly it’s where you “feel” it is”.

Overall, I think the KBS $-Taper is an excellent pairing with the Avoda Origin iron.

Love, love, love the new Avoda Variable length irons but love the same length irons LW to 8i. The KBS TGi 80 graphite shafts are perfectly matched to me. I love the high approach shots and high spin rates into greens and also the knockdown punch shots these irons allow as well. The 4i does not have the height I’d like but the distance is excellent. I am interested in adding 4i and 5i hybrid irons as an option to this incredible set. The jumbomax grips did scare me at first as I’ve played standard size grips. I’ll never go back to a standard size grip again. Thank you Avoda. :)

As a former PBR bull rider I understood the correlation of simplicity and consistency. I wish I would have taken that wisdom to my golf game sooner. These irons have immediately allowed me to be more consistent in my ball striking.

I’ve been playing “fitted” clubs for decades. I never knew those clubs were wrong until I got fit with Avoda. I’ve only played 3 rounds with my new Combo Length set and have already cut 5 strokes off. I can only improve as I play more. Thank you Avoda!!!!
