Distance control requires shaft lean.

Optimal wedge distance control requires launching around 30 degrees. Achieving it demands significant shaft lean, lowering the leading edge and making clean contact difficult. The W3 is built for exactly that lean.

Steeper Sole Angle

Optimized for 10–15 degrees of shaft lean at impact, so you can lean the shaft without the leading edge getting stuck in the ground.

Wider Sole

Lets you hit down on the ball without taking a huge divot — creating cleaner contact and improved spin control.
