4 Iron Length: Combo vs Same

Avoda’s 4 iron fits seamlessly into both our Combo-Length and Same-Length iron sets. In the Combo-Length set, it plays at a standard length of 39”, with the long irons progressively decreasing in length up to the 7 iron for optimized launch, spin, and stopping power. The short irons, from 8 through to the wedges, are all the same length for added consistency and control. In the Same-Length set, the 4 iron plays at 37”, matching every other club in the set to promote better swing mechanics, posture, and simplified setup across the bag.

The Versatility of the 4 Iron

Distance, Control, and Shot Shaping

The 4 iron is one of the most versatile clubs in golf, offering a unique combination of distance and precision. At Avoda, we’ve re-engineered the 4 iron to meet the demands of modern players—blending traditional performance with innovative design. With a lower loft than mid-irons, our 4 iron delivers a strong, penetrating ball flight that’s perfect for long par 3s, second shots into par 5s, or controlled tee shots on tight holes. Unlike hybrids, which tend to launch higher, the 4 iron provides a lower flight and greater shot-shaping potential—especially useful in windy conditions or when accuracy is crucial.

Combo Length Design & Strategic Loft Gapping

Optimized for Performance and Bag Setup

Avoda’s 4 iron fits into our Combo-Length set at a standard length of 39", with a precisely engineered loft of 19 degrees. This long iron sits within our strategic 4-degree loft gaps, running from the 4 to the 7 iron—creating better launch conditions, more consistent spacing, and softer landings. With just 10 clubs covering 19° to 60°, our gapping system frees up space in your bag for more tee-game versatility—without sacrificing distance coverage or precision.
